It fills me with a sense of accomplishment now, having done arts and crafts activities with my boys for years, that they have come to expect an activity on most nights. They are really excited about that expectation. They find it fun, entertaining, and it's a wonderful way to expand their imagination, coordination, artistic abilities. It is also wonderful bonding time.

​Whether melting crayon bits to make a multicolored crayon or a wax drawing, or tie dying shirts, or making spider creatures out of egg cartons and pipe cleaners, arts and crafts come in many, many forms.  Depending on your abilities...some may turn out better than others, but either way, you and your kids will have fun making them.   

With art activities though, don't always get caught up in the craft of it, sometimes good ol' fashioned finger painting, coloring, or chalking up a sidewalk provides hours of enjoyment.
