Concerts
Singing along to live music with your children is an amazing way to spend time together. While my kids also love the Black Keys and Cowboy Mouth, this page is reserved more for the Children's Music genre. Below are some of our favorites from that category:
An Emmy winning children's singer who created his "Farmer" character to educate children about farm life and nature.
This guy has so many songs, we need a greatest hits. "My Brother Did it," "Pop Fly," "Meltdown," "Koala Bear's Diner," and the one that will almost make a dad cry, "Sandcastles." Grammy award winning children's singer...at first I had to look him up to make sure it wasn't Zach Braff from "Scrubs" because that's who his voice reminds me of. We've seen him live. While it was great fun for the adults, it was an amazing experience for the kids.
Laurie Berkner is featured prominently on Nickelodeon, so naturally kids learn her songs by heart, songs like "I'm Gonna Catch You," "Five Days Old," and "Family". Her songs are sweet and fun! Her website has a place to request her tour to come to your area...which I've sent begging messages, so we'll see how that goes.
Aside from getting to see him for free at our local library and being majorly impressed, he sang songs that are hilarious and WILL NOT leave your brain, like "Mosquito Burrito" and "It's a No-No to Kiss a Rhino". A two-time winning Parent's Choice award winner, he's very eco conscious and educates kids on ecosystems and nature in general during his concerts.
