Do you keep buying box after box of crayons only to have a graveyard of broken crayon bits that you have no idea what to do with? You could throw them away, sure. Does that make you feel wasteful, though?
It doesn't need to. You don't want to be a crayon hoarder after all. However, there is something you could do with all your ghosts of crayons past. It makes for a cool activity that produces a neat outcome your kids will love.
Save up your bits of broken crayons. When you get a good amount, grab your muffin pan and spread your broken crayon bits into different cupcake wrappers. Really mix the colors up!
Throw your batch into the oven until the crayons have melted well. Let them cool and solidify. Once they do, you have multi-colored crayons!
Granted...they're round...but nonetheless awesome.
