I'll assume the first question when reading that title is, "what does 'samtaegeuk' mean?" Let's start with a Taegeuk, which means "supreme ultimate". The taegeuk symbol is similar to a yin yang and represents the ultimate balance between heaven and earth. Korea uses that symbol on their flag.
A samtaegeuk symbol, then, adds a third component to the peaceful balance, humanity. Yellow enters the symbol as the third color, representative of humanity, with the over all symbol then showing the peaceful balance between heaven, earth, and humanity.
A popular craft involving the samtaekeuk symbol is making a fan with that symbol on it. The craft itself is easy enough, Cut your fan material in a rough shape of a fan and paint the symbol onto your material. We simply used paper. Then, glue a stick, such as a Popsicle stick on the back of your fan and, voila, you have a completed Korean craft!
