Lego DC Super Villains is similar to many of the other Lego video games with superheroes in them but with a twist. As with the other games, you play as famous comic book characters and solve puzzles while completing missions and battles. However, in this Lego game, instead of playing as the hero, you play as villains!
Joker, Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Riddler, Scarecrow, Sinestro, Lex Luthor, Reverse Flash, and more. All the big bads from the world of DC comics are in it. Even thought you're playing as villains, all the typical Lego game humor is in it. The comedy makes the game even more fun to play.
When the story of the game starts, you see the Justice League get thrown into a portal by the Crime Syndicate. The Syndicate is an evil, alternate, parallel-universe version of the Justice League. With the real League gone, the Syndicate naturally takes their place.
With the real heroes gone and new villains in charge, the world is left to be saved by our own villains. Playing as the DC villains, you have to stop the Syndicate.
The players have puzzles to solve, missions to accomplish, and battles to win in order to defeat the games villains. That's your motive. The Syndicate's motive? They're working for Darkseid! Darkseid, of course, wants to take over the world.
Once you beat the game, you still have great game play ahead of you since you can then begin free play mode. You can add to the games characters and collect gold (to buy more characters) by continuing to complete more missions. You can even create your own characters, choosing their look and their powers!
The missions are as weird as all other Lego branded games. Missions range from fighting villains over a cat to getting hot dogs and crystals for a big demon named Trigon.
This isn't just "yet another" Lego game. It's hilarious and fun to play. Even though I love all the Lego games so far, this one quickly became my favorite. My 2nd favorite Lego game is Lego Marvel Superheroes 2. So, naturally, that will be my next review!
