Star Wars Rebels is a POX!

Calm down there FELLOW Star Warriors! (Notice I said "fellow"). Like I'm assuming many of you do, I too like the new Star Wars Rebels show. However, it's little kid birthday time, and what is EVERY store carrying as Star Wars related birthday party décor? Rebels. While they are cool and all...where's the Darth Vader and Yoda decoration that's presumably existed on kid birthday party decoration shelves since 1977?? (If even a thing like kid themed birthday party decoration existed back then, it may have been simply colorful hats and noise makers for all I remember.) Regardless, this is the year of Star Wars! I've created a full media blackout on all things Star Wars until this year. A) My boys are turning 6 and are finally able to appreciate the movies. B) Part VII comes out this year! So, when I get them into Luke, Han, Chewy, Leia, Obi, Vader, and Yoda...all disappear from the themed decoration shelves like that little Anakin actor did in Hollywood after Phantom Menace.

I started the Star Wars retrospective with, of course, New Hope - Empire Strikes Back - and Return of the Jedi. Granted, they told me that Darth was Luke's daddy...so much for full media blackout, I guess I forgot to inform my mom. Now we've watched Phantom Menace...which they loved Jar Jar. There's no accounting for taste, but I will TEACH them. So, when asked what kind of party do you want this year? Avengers, SpongeBob, and TMNT have all been used. Without any hesitation, they both said "Star Wars". I'm getting a picture cake with Luke vs Vader, and I've found a Vader balloon...but all things else are Rebels. No R2, no C3PO...sigh. Luckily they like Rebels.

I'm guessing Rebels wouldn't sell as well if it was sitting beside Vader, Yoda, and R2...
