Uh Oh, the Kids Can Read

My twin boys can now read. They’re voraciously reading everything, little books, signs going down the road, and recorded DVR shows. Gone are the days of the secret Mommy & Daddy codes of spelling things out that we didn’t want the kids to know about. Much like “The Imitation Game,” our Enigma machine has been beaten. Reading through the DVR, in times of old, we could easily pick what to watch without any qualms from either kid because they had no …idea what magic we were doing! Now, we scroll through, and they say, “Ooh, let’s watch Jessie” or “I wanna watch that SpongeBob episode.” And, just last night, Eli was acting down, probably because he wasn’t feeling well, but my wife said, “see if you can figure out what’s W-R-O-N-G with Eli.”

To which Luke responded, “Wrong! You spelled wrong.”

Gotta come up with a new system…
