When my boys were born, their baby books asked me to write a letter to each of them so that they could read it in the future. I did, and I’d like to think it was pretty good for the hopes and dreams of a first time father. Now that they are 5 and I’m 38 with a little bit of fathering experience, I want to update it:
Protector, teacher, helper, playmate, friend, defender, provider, cartoon watcher-wither, cuddler, coach, parent, toy: DAD. I’ll always do my best to be whatever they need even if that’s not always what they want. I may not always get it right, but I’ll try my best and will love them no matter what.
