The Trojan Horse may not be the very first thing you think of when someone mentions Greece, but it surely is near the top of the list. With the story of the Trojan War being thousands of years old, the tale of how the Greeks won the war against the city of Troy is very well known. Achilles. Odysseus. Menelaus. Lots of big names from Greek mythology made an appearance in the story. So, for the craft of our Greek stop, we went with the Trojan Horse.
I looked for multiple ways to create a Trojan Horse that would be something my boys could do. Some involved Popsicle sticks, some styrofoam. In the end, we went with paper using the printable craft pages you can get at DLTK. Print out each sheet, cut everything out, and then piece it all together using tape or glue sticks. A toothpick through the wheels, acting as axles, will help your paper horse stand.
