For our venture into China for its stop along our world culture tour, I wanted to create a Chinese restaurant at home and get takeout. I ordered lots of fun decoration from Oriental Trading Company. Paper Lanterns. Chopsticks. Napkins and plates. Table centerpiece. Oh, and of course a dragon decoration!
However, a restaurant is nothing if it doesn't have some good food! So, we got sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, and fried rice. I also got General Tso's chicken even though I've come to understand it isn't truly food from China. No matter its origin, it sure is good though!
I surprised the boys (and the wife) by decorating our dining room while they didn't know what I was doing. I spread the food out, invited them in, and told them they couldn't eat unless they ate it with chopsticks!

So, my wife didn't even try the chopsticks. My boys, though, ate probably half their meals before giving up and resorting back to forks.
To add a more authentic feel to our dining experience, we had guzheng music playing in the background.
