LeapPads: A Review

leap pad

Leap pads by LeapFrog are tablets for young kids, complete with fun educational games that any kid will love. Mine sure do. They're not just for playing games, though, kids can read books on them and even watch shows. Parents can get cartridge games at a local retailer such as Wal-Mart or Target, or they can purchase games, books, and shows from the Leap Frog app store. The games have characters that everyone knows and loves, from Scooby-Doo and Spongebob to Mickey Mouse and Lightning McQueen. Each game has an educational element to it, teaching letters, numbers, reading, math, and even social skills and taking care of pets! The newer Leap Pads even have internet capabilities to allow for parent approved sites. For an idea on how the APP store for LeapFrog works, watch this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eORj_NGpTRM I know there are competitors on the market, but we've only ever used the Leap Pads because they have such a huge amount of content available to put onto the tablets. Others, from my research, don't quite match the number of games, and shows available or the wide variety of licensed characters. What's even better is they have amazing customer service. When one of our LeapPads finally broke (and believe me, my kids put them through the ringer), the company replaced it even though the warranty was up!  So, I'm a very happy customer, and I think anyone that used a LeapPad would be too.
