Whether you're sitting at home on Halloween to dish out the candy to trick-or-treaters or going out trick-or-treating yourself, you need to eat.
Why not make food that falls within the Halloween theme to really get into the spooky festivities?
We made multiple creepy courses!
Horrible hors d'oeuvres
Pumpkin Puke
Cut squinty eyes into a pumpkin and cut a rounded mouth. Put a pile of cheese dip in front of the mouth and put a trail up into the mouth to look like the pumpkin puked it out. Then spread chips around that to make your chips n dip appetizer complete.
Finger Food
Take string cheese sticks and cut them in half. Cut a couple of lines near one end and another set near the other end, leaving a little bit of space on this end, as shown above. These make your "knuckles". Then, in the space you left above, cut a divet out for a small piece of green or red pepper. The pepper acts as the "fingernail".
Bone Breadsticks
This one is fairly easy, but the "bones" don't always keep their shape once you bake them. Get a can of biscuits, open them up and shape them into "bones". Bake them. Serve them with "blood" marinara sauce.
Orange Pumpkins
Peel the peeling off some mandarin oranges and stick a small piece of celery into the top center as the "pumpkin stem".
Ghost Potato Skins
Make potato skins, cover them in sour cream, and add chives as the eyes and mouth.
Main Murderous Meal
Cook sausage and put that on a serving plate. Set up a rack of ribs on either side, leaning it like a "rib cage" over top of your sausage "guts." It helps with the presentation if you can set a plastic skull above your serving plate.
Mummy Hot Dog
Use a can of biscuits again. Cook your hot dogs, then stretch the doughy biscuit around the hot dog as the "mummy wrappings" and bake.
Devilish Desserts
These desserts look cool and taste great.
Brain Food
You should be able to find skull cupcake holders near Halloween. Put frosting into a tube and squirt it in a zigzag pattern on top to look like the curvy lines of a brain.
Eyeball Cupcakes
Add white frosting to your cupcake and squirt red gel over the top as "blood". Stick gummy eyeballs on the top center.
"Pumpkin Cake"
You don't need actual pumpkin cake for this one. Take any cake slice, cover it with orange frosting. Then draw a jack-o-lantern face on it with black frosting. Use green licorice, sour gummy worms, or any other green candy stick to make the stem.
Spider Cupcakes
Start with a cupcake. Add string licorice as spider legs and cookies as eyes.
