Sometimes You Have to Get Muddy

kids in mud

Everyone has heard the saying "Boys will be boys". Usually that comes into play when the boy has done something daredevilish, bold, ... or dirty. For some reason (and I'm NOT limiting this to boys), kids love mud. Mud Pies. Mud Fights. Sliding in mud. You name it.

Now, to some adults and germaphobes, this sounds like the last thing you'd ever want to do. But, kids being kids. While they're still filled with that innocence, combined with fearlessness, they just don't care. And, that's a good thing. Let them run wild, run free, while they still can. They're not burdened by jobs and bills. They are happy and free, experiencing life! Maybe, you should put the laundry down (you're going to have more soon anyway!) or stop mowing and go jump into the mud with them.

We are doing some construction in our backyard, so there's a mud pit. My boys leapt at the chance to get down 'n dirty!
