Things to Do in San Diego

While I went here for a nerd convention, Cisco Live, I have not been here for THE nerd convention, aka San Diego Comic Con. It's on the bucket list. San Diego has really cool neighborhoods. The Gaslamp District is fun for food and shopping while Old Town is fun... for food and shopping!

The difference is the type of food and shopping. Gaslamp is filled with various style restaurants, shopping and nightlife, while Old Town is a state historic park commemorating the early days of San Diego, complete with original adobe buildings. The food is amazing southwestern and Mexican food, and most of the shopping is similarly southwestern themed. There's even a few restaurants where they hand make the tortillas out front for you to watch.

You can take harbor cruises or tour the famous USS Midway.

You can visit the beach at La Jolla or on Coronado Island. While on Coronado, be sure to see the historic Hotel del Coronado. The wonderful story of "The Wizard of Oz" was written by L. Frank Baum while staying here.

Like so many cities in California, San Diego is not without its theme park, it has Sea World!

Also, possibly the most famous thing to do in San Diego is to see the San Diego Zoo! This is one of the biggest zoos in the world.
